Ultrasonic vibration causes the metal of the blade fixture and the tip of the transducer to rub against each other, and the blade fixture and horn (the hole at the tip of the transducer) become dirty with dust from the rubbing of the metal.
If used while dirty, the main unit will not operate properly.
Blades and blade fixtures are consumables.
If the blade becomes burnt or dirty, or the blade fixture becomes dirty or cracked as shown in the photo below, replace the blade and blade fixture promptly.
